Therapeutic supports are provided to help you improve your functional skills in areas such as communication, personal care, mobility and movement, interpersonal interactions, and community living.
A qualified allied health professional, such as an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, dietitian, counsellor, or speech pathologist, provides therapeutic support. A registered nurse can also provide them. The most important consideration is that the person providing therapeutic support be qualified in their field.
Therapeutic Supports may include:
Our therapeutic supports are tailored to help participants achieve their goals across all areas of life, including independence, health and wellbeing, community participation, and social and interpersonal skills.
NDIS funding for these supports is determined on an individual basis. If the NDIS considers the support to be reasonable and necessary to meet your needs and help you reach your goals, it can be included in your plan. Funding decisions will also take into account your personal situation, plan objectives, and aspirations.
